The result is intoxicating, with notes of rich, smoky sweet corn, tropical fruits, vanilla, earth, and smoke. This is what great mezcal is all about. Limited. With this bottle, Aquilino Garcia Lopez pays homage to the two great culinary ingredients of Oaxaca: corn and agave. The corn is roasted and added to the distillate before the second distillation. The Oaxacan corn softens the harsher edges of the Mezcal with sweet straw flavors. The smoke from the roasted agave blends perfectly with the corn. You may also note some flavors of tropical fruit, grass, and coconut when sipped neat. Try it with a squeeze of lime wedge, blanc vermouth, and a splash of Grapefruit liqueur.
