A much-anticipated new addition to our shelves, Cappelletti Aperitvo is an artisanal wine-based aperitif made by the same family for over four generations in the Alto-Adige region of Italy. Made from mostly Trebbiano, the nose is round and very full, captivating with just a hint of bitterness and herbs. The texture on the palate is generous, providing a slight bitterness from notes of citrus peel. A wonderful mixer for cocktails.
Negroni, Americano, Boulevardier, Old Pal, Jasmine...all are easy to make Campari-based cocktails which I love, but like me, you are always looking to see what fun, new items are out there. Cappelletti is it! But unlike its more famous cousin, this beauty uses red wine as its base (as opposed to Neutral Grain Spirit). This adds softness, complexity and bit more freshness to your drink.
