The Savino family owns a sliver of an estate that is located within the natural reserve park, Vendicari, located in the southeastern-most corner of Sicily. This is one of the few Nero d'Avola vineyards facing directly onto the sea shore in the area of Sichilli. The fruit aromas are savory with mulberry, orange rind, and spice. Aged in old barrels and bottled unfiltered. A full-bodied red wine that will age for several years to come.
A delicious red wine from the Mount Etna region with flavors of red fruit, licorice, and citrus. A delicate leathery finish is also noticeable. Vittorio Savino, the producer of this wine is an experienced winemaker: he used to work at Gulfi, one of the most important wine producers in Sicily. Organic farming is practiced and only sheep manure is used in the vines. The location of the vineyard is an important factor for the production of this wine: the minerality comes from the rich volcanic soil and an interesting salinity is created by the vicinity to the sea. A complex wine that's fresh, fruity, and earthy at the same time!
