This is currently the oldest American whiskey we have on our shelves and how fitting that it comes from one of the oldest and greatest distilleries in America, Heaven Hill. The Elijah Craig bourbons are focused on older stocks that reach the heights of this categorry's complexity without being over-matured. This 23-year single barrel is still ripe with fruit after all these years. The opening notes of apples feature it in all its forms while secondary preserved morello cherries, caramel covered popcorn, cinnamon stick, brown butter, wild flowers, and honey remind you that this is the big leagues indeed. The whiskey glides on the palate with excellent drinkability. This is a fine drink, my friends.
