Bodega Andana "Accuro" Malbec - 2020

750 mL
Item # 32127

This wine is made entirely from Malbec grown at Finca Los Alamos, a family-owned farm in the foothills of the Andes. From 30 year old vines, all of the grapes are hand-harvested before being carefully transported to Bodega Adana for vinification. Thirty percent of the wine was aged in oak barriques. This full-bodied dry red wine is perfect to pair with sauages grilled over charcoal.

Staff Pick Notes

Malbecs from Mendoza Argentina can vary in style from California inspired fruit forward jam bombs to Italian influenced oxidative styling. The Bodega Andana "Accuro" Malbec leans more towards the motherland of Malbec, Cahors France. Grown in the high altitude of the Uco Valley, where the mildew prone grape berries thrive in the dry wind blown mountain air of the Mendoza. "Accuro" was aged 80% stainless steel tanks and 20% used French oak for 8 months, with an additional 6 months in bottle before release. Ripe fruit on the nose, dry and full with firm tannin on the palate, earthy but refined, this is a strong Malbec that is easy to like. Pair with grilled steaks, sausages or a grilled portabello mushroom burger with melted goat cheese.

As the grape can be quite difficult to cultivate, it has become far less popular over the years, even in its Bordeaux home. Its South American renaissance has ensured, however, that...
