I first became a fan of Meletti's offerings with their classic amaro, a staple digestivo in my household. When I saw this little gem hiding on the shelf in our anise liqueur section, I knew I had to try it out. At 32% ABV, this is the perfect after-lunch sipper. Simple yet elegant, this anise liqueur is loaded with soft licorice, orange citrus, fennel and just a kiss of cinnamon. Following Silvio Meletti's recipe from 1870, the botanicals speak for themselves. With just enough viscosity, while avoiding that overly syrupy mouth feel, this is quite lovely paired up with an afternoon espresso and a tall stack of pizelle.
