Distilled from a batch of wild cuixe plants from the 2015 harvest that had each grown for a minimum of 13 years slowly soaking up the rich complexity of the land in the stunning mountainous region surrounding the village of Santa María Zoquitlán. Produced by a Master Mezcalero who is quickly gaining legendary status, Ignacio Parada, or Don Chucho as he is admiringly referred to the mezcal here is multi-layered with overiding fruit notes that are flanked by whole spices and mineral.

Staff Pick Notes

This is one of my favorite mezcals made with agave from the Cuixe family. The taste has notes of banana, papaya, and apple. It is very fruity but balanced and delicious. Beware, the initial taste is a little hot, but that gives way to a very round and viscous mouth feel. The flavor is very distinct and evolves into a very mellow, spicy sipper. You'l want to drink more and more of it. You'll want to buy more, too. Agave shortages are coming, so get 'em while it lasts.
