Making wine in Quebec comes with the challenges of extreme cold of winter & inevitable frosts of spring yet Frédéric Simon and his wife Catherine Bélanger tend to their 1.5 ha winery with resolute sincerity and an evolving sense of place. Their red wine is a blend of the hybrid grapes Marquette and Frontenac Gris. Great acidity and bright, pure red fruit flavors. An exciting, well-made natural wine from Canada that will please adventurous palates.

Light body - Check Bright acid - Check From a crazy region - Check Natural - Double Check Canadian wine is not something you stumble upon every day. Especially natural Canadian wine. This lighter bodied red is made from the grapes Marquette and Frontenac Gris which are hardier and built to withstand the frigid temperatures. Light frothy raspberry nose with stemy brambles. On the palate you get a electric acidity that lightens the deep fruitiness. A wonderful red to drink while reading Patti Smith while the rain slowly waters the windows.
