Staff Pick Notes

Who wants to drink a pinot bianco with a sassy attitude? I certainly do, but maybe that's because I have one, too. Hailing from the Isarco Valley, just below the Austrian border, this region is known for its almost exclusive production of white grape varieties. High altitude, mild and sunny summer days, cool nights, and protection offered by the mountains from more intense weather create an ideal climate for making wines with lots of character, and this is no exception. This cheeky bottle packs a punch with loads of green apple, lemon, lime and a perfumed finish that really sticks around. Audacious pairing opportunities abound so snag a bottle and try it with sautéed greens, roasted delicata squash, sashimi or salads with fresh fruit and roasted nuts.

Alto-Adige, the northernmost half of the region, retains great pride in its Germanic heritage, evidenced by the dual language bottle labels appearing in the region. The region is most famous for its...

Alto-Adige retains great pride in its Germanic heritage, evidenced by the dual language bottle labels appearing in the region. Alto-Adige is most...
