Much like the flagship Tottori, this whisky is an excellent choice for cocktails but due to the fact that it has been aged in 1st fill ex-Bourbon barrels as well as a small amount of new oak casks, the whisky has a multi-dimensional complexity while still being easy that makes it great on its own as well.

The other weekend I decided to take a spontaneous trip to Dia:Beacon. I usually love to walk around after visiting an art exhibit and stop at the local restaurants for a drink before heading back to the city. But nothing is certain during the times of Covid. So, just to be safe I took my flask full of Matsui Tottori Bourbon Barrel Japanese Whisky. This beautiful blended whiskey was carefully matured in ex-bourbon barrels, giving it a touch of caramel, leather, and vanilla. It is perfect to sip on and stay warm on a crisp January day.
