Bozal introduces elements of both wild Barril and wild Mexicano magueys to the ubiquitous Espadin. The result is a mezcal rich with complexity, showing multiple layers of fruity, earthy, and spice flavors. Lime, melon, pears, vanilla, mineral, white pepper all mingle on the palate and nose. The feel has some weight and slickness on the palate and mildly warm on the chest. The preparation and distilling is entirely done by hand. I appreciate that they deliver all this at an approachable price. My palate and pocket are happy.
