Sasakawa Fine Japanese Whisky

Made by one of Japan's oldest and greatest brewery/distilleries founded in the mid-18th Century, the new micro Asaka distillery is dedicated to barley based whiskies distilled and aged entirely in Japan. The Fine Whisky is a blend on grain and malt aged, copper-pot distilled and aged for a minimum of three years before being brought to proof by the ultra-pure waters the region is famed for derived from the seasonal snow melts. We found notes of macadamia nut, verbena tea, honeyed porridge, fresh caramel, white pepper, Anjou pear and nutmeg. An impressive and satisfying whisky that emphasizes subtlety and balance.
