With roots dating back to 1752, New Grove is perhaps the oldest operational rum distillery on this storied island located in the Indian Ocean off of Africa's south east coast. This unaged rum represents the traditional style of the region. Made from molasses from the local sugar cane, the rum is all natural with no additives and pure flavors of that balance the line between sweet and savory. On last tasting we found notes that reminded us of guava fruits, white currants, banana leaf, bitter almond, fresh leafy herbs and preserved lime.
