It may sound like hyperbole but this is simply one of the more impressive gins you're likely to come across. The elements of Japanese Craft that are associated with meticulous craftsmanship, respect for nature and an obsession with perfection and refinement come together in this gin. Made from a base of local Miyazaki sweet potatoes and sugar cane with the additions of local botanicals of juniper berries, yuzu, sansho, hebesu, hyuganatsu, sweet potato and rice koji. The flavors are full of vibrant citrus, earth and spices. Incredibly precise like a lightning bolt on the palate. Nothin else quite like this one. Highly recommended.

The depth and nuance in this gin fully demand your attention. Producers who care as much about their base spirit as the botanicals are rare, and Kyoya Distillery is this rare find. Coming up on their 200th anniversary of shochu production, the base spirit of this gin is their famous Beni Satsuma sweet potato shochu! It is unique, delicious, and when combined with the magical flavors of several local citrus (yes Yuzu but also Hyuganatsu & Hebesu), all from their hometown of Miyazaki in the far south of Japan, alchemy is created. They ferment their shochu in terracotta jars before distillation, an ancient tradition lost by many modern producers. A cool, low pressure distillation keeps every aroma intact, leading to an experience that is truly one of a kind. This bottle represents the soul of Miyazaki, and we are honored to carry it!
