Staff Pick Notes

Rarely will you find me pouring myself a glass of Cab Franc that isn't wickedly vegetal. But with Summer on the horizon, now is as good a time as ever to mix up my go-to style. Winemaker Geoffrey de Noüel trained in Burgundy, taking the mission of cultivating and vinifying a single varietal on different plots to Chinon, giving each of his expressions a unique experience. The Les Noraies is unfiltered and unfined, yet it was surprisingly lighter than I anticipated. Red currants, cherries, and raspberries immediately jump out at me, contrasted by lots of forest floor notes of dried flowers, a slight pine-y quality, and wet earth. Typically a style I look for in other varietals, this will be the perfect fit for my chilled red Summer. Grilled eggplant and zucchini you have found your perfect match! DH

In fact,...
