Faugères "Cricri d'Amour", Dom. Les Serrals - 2019

750 mL
Item # 45043

A wild, earthy red wine that's made from a rented parcel of Grenache and Cinsault that's owned by an old woman, famous in the area for opening the very first gay club in Montpelier back in the 1970's when it was still illegal to do so. Not a wine for the faint of heart as it commands food and a palate that enjoys a bit of funk.

Staff Pick Notes

This is the story of Chloe and Fred, who fell in love with wine and each other and said, "what the heck, let's go live our dream." Faugères, to be exact, a tiny appellation in the Languedoc, known for its rich, hearty blends of Rhône varieties. This blend of Grenache and Cinsault is full of Mediterranean sunshine with fresh red and dark fruit, earthy garrigue, and a little barnyard funk. It's intense, bright, and fresh and would be great with lamb or burgers. The grapes are from a plot owned by a woman with serious LGBTQ street cred (deets on yellow tag), a woman who realized her vision just like Chloe and Fred. So go text your crush, dye your hair pink, write that novel. Whatever it is, go live your dream (and drink great wine).
