Lamata Lechuguilla Sonora Mezcal

It is still exceptionally rare to see agave spirits surfacing from Sonora, and wheb they finally do and they are this good, you have to wonder what else we might be missing out on. Produced by Ramon Almada in Alamo, this agaves where grown on the ranch, hamd harvested, cooked in the earth and split by hand with an axe in a wooden canoe. After wild fermentation and double distilliation, the spirit was brought to proof with a blend of heads and tails, not water. As complex as it sounds this is simply one of the most delightful and approachable mezcals we have discovered with unforgettable notes of ripe manadarins, key limes, coconut and pepper. Very limited. A unearthed gem that should not be overlooked.
