Limniona Rosé, Dom. Zafeirakis - 2024

750 mL
Item # 46499

A medium-bodied dry rosé, not too dark, yet not pale, with red fruit and plenty of minerality, this is enitrely Limniona. From the Thessaly region of central Greece, Christos Zafeirakis crafts distinctive and delicious wines. Fermented with indigenous yeast, pair this with scallops in sumac sauce with a proper Greek village-style salad.

Staff Pick Notes

Since taking over his family winery in 2005, Christos Zafeirakis has been a vanguard in bringing attention to the PGI Tyrnavos region of Central Greece. The first thing he did was to plant his first organic vineyard in the estate. In 2007, he made the region’s first monovarietal wine of Limniona. In 2019, he began the process of converting to biodynamic farming. Here is a rare rosé that actually names its grape. The wine has the fresh, fruity flavors that always attracts us to rosé, yet its weight, concentration, minerality, and a silky, slick texture commands thought. You’ll taste red berries with hints of hard candy, maraschino, and savory herbs. Enjoy with Saganaki.
