From Patrimonio in the northern part of the island. This is an unoaked red wine that's a blend of Grenache and Nielluccio. Thomas represents the 6th generation to take over the estate with vines across the Oletta, Olmeta-di-Tuda, and St.-Florent communes. The soils are a mix of schist and limestone.
This is a lovely blend of Grenache and the Corsican indigenous grape Nielluccio. A lively wine with cranberry flavors and notes of spice, tobacco, and black pepper. Thomas Santamaria, the producer of this wine, is a sixth-generation winemaker. The estate has been certified organic since 2011. Organic farming is supported also by biodynamic practices, following the lunar cycle for vine management and wine making. Native yeast is used and the wine is unfined and unfilterd. This wine starts as smooth and fruity and continues with earthiness and minerality. An elegant and, at the same time, rustic wine that represents the beauty of this beautiful island!
