Scharzhofberger Riesling Spätlese, Egon Müller - 2020

In the 1930 movie Morocco, Marlene Dietrich saunters on stage wearing a top hat and tails, sings a song in French, then downs a glass of Champagne before kissing a woman in the audience. Talk about making an entrance. Even if you've never seen the movie you surely know the iconic image of her in a tux. With wine, too, when you show up at a party, who doesn't want to hear oohs and aahhs when you walk through the door? You could, of course, wear a tuxedo, or, you could bring this gorgeous, sleek magnum of one of the finest rieslings ever made. It's an off-dry Spätlese showing concentrated notes of apple, white peach and honeysuckle. Its electric acidity means this is one for the ages. The bottle may capture everyone's attention, but the wine will steal your heart.
