High Wire Astor Selection Wheated Single Barrel Straight Bourbon Whiskey - 2017

One of the most interesting single barrels we have selected in years, by far, was not even ever supposed to get bottled. Dubbed the 'Accidental Barrel,' by Ann & Scott of High Wire, this started as an experiment where the team distilled a micro batch of a wheated mash comprised of 76% Jimmy Red Corn, 19% Red Wheat, 5% Distiller's Malt and aged it in a Kelvin newly toasted white oak 53-gallon barrel at 110.9 ABV on 08/23/17. After nearly five years we asked them to bottle it exclusively for us if they were willing to part with it as it was clearly the most unique thing we had ever come across in their cellars. There are no current plans for them to ever release another Wheated Bourbon so do not miss this one.
