Honey and dried pollen present up front on this fuller-textured Chardonnay. Lighter on its feet from lemon-peel acids, undertones of light wood enter the scene leaving a sense of caramel and butter. The endless finish seals the deal; this is a wine worth savoring, especially over rich fish dishes, like scallops and cream. The Chardonnay for this wine comes from old vines (35 years of age and older) growing in clay- and limestone-based soils. Hand-harvested and matured in 228-L barrique (10% new) for 12 months, this was filtered lightly before bottling.
