La Petite Odyssée, Rouge Furie - 2020

Item # 49557 750mL

Antoine Bernardin grew up in vineyards, studied viticulture, and has worked around the world at biodynamic estates. His domaine in the Southwest of France focuses on regional grapes. This red blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Aboriou is whole cluster fermented in old barrels. Dark, full-bodied, with a bit of funk, this will pair well with cassoulet.

Staff Pick Notes

A great blend from the Languedoc Roussillon in South West France. The producer practices biodynamic viticulture and production is very small The pressing process is done by foot in order to extract just the right amount of tannin. It's a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and the more unknown Arboriu. This last grape variety is often used in blends. It gives black fruit, spicy flavors and tannins. This wine has a deep color, red and black berries aromas and flavors and a hint of smokiness. I would pair this wine with aged cheeses or risotto. Complex and drinkable at the same time!

Today, Cabernet Sauvignon has a...
