Roberto Henriquez, Torontel Super Estrella - 2023

After his enology studies in Chilé, Roberto Henriquez worked various wine estates throughout the world. His biggest influence came from René Mosse, the great natural vigneron of the Loire. Since then, Henriquez maintains that great wine is made in the vineyards, not the cellar. His vines are grown and tended biodynamically and keeps his hands off the vinification process. His Rosado recalls the Italian Ramato wines that skin ferment Pinot Grigio to give texture, tannins, peachy aromas, and an magenta/amber hue. The wine shows flavors of fresh strawberries, apricot, and white pepper. Tannins are a bit grainy and acidity is fresh and brisk. It finishes with a bit of lemony zing. Pair with prosciutto and melon.
