Mars Y.A. Bakemono Pure Malt Japanese Whisky

A special single cask series created to celebrate the famous Bakemono Zukushi or 'Monster Scroll' of 18th Century Japanese folklore, this series also showcases the astounding breadth of this independent family distiller. An outlier in the series this bottling may be the most important of all the releases. A bringing together of all the different, extraordinary whisky making methods at Mars, this bottling is a pure malt featuring a single cask of single malt aged over 5yrs at Komagatake and a single cask aged over 4yrs from Tsunuki distillery, married and finished aging on the remote, almost magical, wild island of Yakushima. Bottled at 51% abv. This is one of the most beautiful whiskies of the year hands down. Extremely limited.
