But this whisky and the distillery it comes from have set off many of the current trends that have made waves across the Scotch industry in the past decade. With the Islay barley, the PMC is one of the most coveted expressions in the entire Bruichladdich portfolio. Standing for "Port Charlotte Micro Provenance," everything about this whisky speaks to how the extraordinary flavors ranging from wild blackberries, earth, smoke, umami and vanilla all derive from the hyper local aspect of production.
