Takamine Sakura Cask Whiskey

Just in time for spring, nothing quite speaks to the season more than the first signs of pink scattered around town as cherry blossoms herald the long await end of winter. The tree is such a vital and revered symbol in Japan in particular that everything associated with it is created and regarded in with the highest care. It is only natural then that some of the countries leading whisky makers are aging limited edition bottlings in rare casks made from this wood. Thankfully, unlike the blossoms, the flavors are far from fleeting with notes of deeply seasoned spices and stone fruits prevailing. Very limited release Using their patented Takimine parallel fermentation process of koji and yeast, this 100% single malt barley whiskey is double copper pot distilled and aged for 6yrs in American White Oak casks prior to being finished for up to 16 months in special casks whose barrel heads were made with cherry blossom trees from the Shinozaki family's own property.
