Adjacent to amaro is the China class of bitter elixirs. Less known than there more famous cousin but just as revered by those familiar with them partly due to their flavor profiles that tend to lean even more bitter than some of their amari counterparts. This prime example from the old Torino brand Radicati is circa 1970s. The China in question is the noble bitter Calissaia, still an extreme rarity to find in the US and an unmistakable bitter profile. Only 2 bottles available.
