Scarlet Menta is a gentle and complex amaro whose herbal bitterness is balanced by floral aromatics and refreshing mint. Each batch requires approximately 150kg of various mints harvested from fields neighboring the Iseya Distillery. Additional botanicals, also many grown on the distiller's farm include, yerba buena, lavender, anise hyssop, fennel, wormwood, Japanese honeysuckle, and cornflower.

Staff Pick Notes

Five different types of mint, all hand-picked by distiller Tatsuya “Moto” Motonaga (and sometimes his mother), go into this meticulously crafted, small-batch amaro. Reminiscent of those soft, pillowy after-dinner mints that your grandma maybe kept in a bowl in her house - very minty, of course, but gentle and approachable, nothing like the bracing, toothpaste-y fernets you throw back when leaving a bar. A low-ish alcohol level keeps things sippable, the pleasingly light bitter finish will bring you back for another go. Serve slightly chilled for a perfect post-meal digestif. Moto recommends it on the rocks with a grapefruit peel.
