The HGML recipe is named after George MacFarquhar Lawson, the former owner of Hampden Estate. It also refers to one of the absolute highest registers of esters ever recorded in rum averaging an almost unthinkable 1000-1100 g/hL AA. Perhaps the most highly prized mark in all of this great estates range and that is saying a lot, it is also naturally extremely rare to see if bottled on its own as a vintage single cask. That is precisely why we knew we had to have it when we were picking our barrels at the estate last year. Aged and bottled 100% at the domaine. Bottled exclusively for us. Aged for 8 year this makes this one of the oldest vintage single cask Hampden's ever available direct from the distillery.

This is a historic store pick from a historic distillery. There isn’t a distillery on earth that possesses the precious muck and dunder that contribute to the height of esters in rum. It can only be called alchemy. What separates this bottling is the fruit that appears on the nose and palate. The flavor glues itself to the palate for an hour minimum. The 73.4 % allows you to take slight kisses to the liquid and savor each drop. Fruit flavors of pineapple, mangos, and bananas transport to the tropics.This is a bottle you’ll remember years after finishing it.
