One of the earliest wine growing families in Washington, L'École has an amazing history in Washington at setting the bar as a premium Merlot producer in the state. For my money this is exactly the kind of wine I want to be drinking through the cold weather. A big, full bodied, and well structured Merlot shows exactly why Washington is producing some of America’s best expressions of Bordeaux varietals. This wine seriously over delivers with a rich and generous palate. Expect loads of dark fruit notes such as blackberries, and Bing cherries. The complexity of the secondary and tertiary notes on this wine are what really sets this apart in this price category. You’re getting heaps of tobacco, dark bitter chocolate, herbs, and a slight minerality on the back end. Drink up!
