Riesling , Henry of Pelham - 2024

Here's a vibrant Riesling, full of juicy stone fruit, a streak of wet stone minerality, buoyed by lively acidity and hailing from...wait. What? Canada?! Really? Yes indeed. Turns out that Ontario's Niagra Peninsula has both weather conditions and a limestone ridge optimal for growing this cool-climate variety. Cool breezes from the lake temper warm summer days and allow the fruit to ripen in an ideal environment. The region is best known for ice wine production, but make no mistake this wine could easily fool a pro in a blind tasting. Henry of Pelham is a sixth generation family farm with a history boasting some of the first grapes planted in Canada. Wine production began in the 1980s, and the their commitment to sustainable practices from vineyard to glass is high. Pair with grilled peaches and crème fraîche!
