Staff Pick Notes

Since I started working at Astor, I've been pleasantly surprised with the amount of the wines from uncommon places I'd enjoy. Like a Sauvignon Blanc from Italy? A Chardonnay from Argentina? C'mon now, that's just insane. With that said, nothing has knocked me out like this Pinot Noir from Meyer-Näkel. Don't get me wrong, I have reverance for the Pinot Noirs, but this is one of the few few Pinot Noirs that I'd drink in bulk. It's appropriately refreshing, vibrant fruit character, and if I could drink a Pinot Noir every day for the rest of my life - I'm grabbing the Meyer-Näkel.

Terroir, the concept that wines from a specific region have unique and identifiable traits, is intricately...
