Staff Pick Notes

If you've been invited to a Passover Seder or a Shabbat meal, but don't know what to bring, this wine definitely hits all the right marks. Domaine du Castel is the first modern winery established in the Judean Hills of Israel, an area also recognized as one of the world's earliest wine making regions. The vines are planted on soils consisting of clay, limestone and terra rossa, a silty reddish soil typical of the Mediterranean region. The climate of the vineyards is moderated by winds blowing in from the sea, keeping the grapes cool and protected from mildew. This is a classic Bordeaux-style blend and exhibits dark, juicy plum flavors, cassis, and mouth watering acidity. Enjoy with brisket, roast chicken or latkes. Shalom!

Today, Cabernet Sauvignon has a...
