Staff Pick Notes

I am a huge fan of Catherine and Pierre (see my staff pick on ‘Trinch!’ red) so I wasn’t surprised that I loved this dry Vouvray aka 100% Chenin Blanc from 40 year old vines. This wine is part of Catherine’s project ‘La Dilettante’ (the Dabbler) and is another example of the care that she and her husband take in their biodynamic vineyard as well as in their gentle winemaking process. The result is a shining example of low intervention/natural wine that is still crystal clean and representative of the terroir and the grape itself. Aromas of fresh lemon, unripe pineapple, and beeswax invite you in to experience a crisp citrus and orchard fruit palate complimented by stony minerality. Drink with good company and dabble in gossip and apple crumble pie.
