While some people favor Valentini's rarer red Montepulciano, we here think the Trebbiano is the most interesting wine at the Valentini estate. It's dry, full of preserved lemons, minerals, smoke and thyme. A pleasure to drink anytime and just right with a slight chill. Excellent with spaghetti alla bottarga - a favorite match of the late Eduardo Valentini too.

Abruzzi

Situated on the eastern calf of the Italian boot, Abruzzi is one of the most prolific wine-growing regions in Italy. Two-thirds mountains and one-third hills, it boasts highly favorable natural conditions for the cultivation of grapes. Abruzzi is most famous for its beautiful expressions of the red Montepulciano and the white Trebbiano, though many winemakers are now beginning to experiment with other grape varietals as well.
