Ch. Suduiraut, Sauternes

Ch. Suduiraut, Sauternes - 2010

Item # 25650 750mL

A divine, superb Sauternes. Suduiraut, a first growth (second only to d'Yquem), has been creating this noble wine since the 16th century. This wine reminds us of honeysuckle flowers pressed into beeswax. The lanolin texture coats the palate in luscious, never-cloying sweetness, and perceptible botrytis notes. More time in the bottle will allow the elements to integrate: this beautiful wine will provide massive pleasure in seven years or so, though it is drinking exceptionally well now. It is composed of 90% Sémillon and 10% Sauvignon Blanc with an average age of 25 years, grown in gravelly, sandy soils bound with pockets of clay.

Some are fermented in barrel, others in stainless steel. Some...

For white Bordeaux, only three varieties are permitted: Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillion, and Muscadelle. The exact percentages of each grape variety used in any...
