Staff Pick Notes

When you hear Beaujolais, do you automatically think ‘NOUVEAU’? If yes, I invite you to venture into the incredible world of non-Nouveau Beauj that will still satisfy that crunchy red berry Gamay craving AND be perfect at the Thanksgiving table. Domaine Diochon produces only this bottle, a Moulin a Vent cru Beaujolais from old vines on pink granite and sandstone, and what a beautiful one bottling it is. Known for being the cru Beauj that can age rather than a drink-now glou glou, Moulin a Vent wines have nice tannins and a mineral streak in addition to the red fruited goodness we all know and love. Concentrated red cherry and cranberry meet complex iron and smoke...this bottle begs to breathe and accompany any pork chop, turkey, or other fall meals. Nouveau or not, Beaujolais - you will always be famous.

Beaujolais Nouveau is perhaps the most gulpable wine made anywhere, and it should be drunk very soon after its release, which occurs each year on the...
