Staff Pick Notes

This is a marriage of Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc. Sémillon is a grape with a distinctive Chamomile and Beeswax profile that has been coupled with the much more fruit-forward Sauvignon Blanc in Bordeaux for hundreds of years. And really, once you taste this, you get it. Where Sauvignon Blanc can veer into high-acid territory, Sémillon keeps things nice and mellow on the palate with a less zesty finish. And where pure Sémillon can be a bit uninteresting, the addition of Sauvignon Blanc offers a very complex and exciting mouthful. I won’t completely spoil the palate for you, but it’s worthwhile to have a glass of this by yourself and just close your eyes and envision yourself on the French coast where these grapes grow so beautifully.

For white Bordeaux, only three varieties are permitted: Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillion, and Muscadelle. The exact percentages of each grape variety used in any...
