We’ve been working with André Gomez’ Portuguese estate of Quinta do Montalto for quite a while, and it’s great to see that the usual high quality standard matched with rock-bottom pricing hits turbo when we change format from bottle to box (don’t forget, this 3L box may not look huge but it equates to four 750mL bottles). The Filas red is young, it’s fresh, it’s a blend, it’s chock full of vivacious fruit and juicy acidity--in short, it seems designed for this format and it’s a resounding success. Insta-party. House wine. Cheap picnic. Whatever you want to do with this it’s delicious.
