A delightfully appealing Trousseau from a small domaine that owns a tiny six hectares. The vines are planted in clay soils. The fruit was hand-harvested then destemmed before going into press. After a 30 day maceration followed by fermentation, the wine aged in old oak barrels for over a year.

I (and probably many other wine professionals) like versatile wines. A bottle that lets you know it has a multitude of uses just from the smell of the first pour. A wine that can be drunk solo but also throw down with some morel mushrooms. Trousseau is one of those wines. The grape yields wine that is both fruity and savory. A palate of tender red fruit, game, and dried flowers. The aroma is nostalgic of the woods on a wet autumn day. It has a lighter body like Pinot Noir yet it often delivers heartier flavors. Need something for your fancy duck dish? Or perhaps for those simple grilled vegetables? Maybe you just want a sophisticated sip of wine at the end of the day.
