The fact that these perfectly-stored, pristine bottles exist and are right here in front of you is enough to get any wine lover excited. Add to that being just over the $100 mark, you might just start drooling. From one of Piedmont's oldest and most respected producers of traditional Barberesco comes this 1970 Riserva that is absolutely singing. I had the joy of opening this wine with a colleague of mine on New Year's Eve and, let's just say, its going to be a good 2016. While fully mature, the wine still retains great structure and acidity. A myriad of sun-dried fruits, baking spices, leather, and dried flowers greet you on the nose. Grab one while you still can! Seriously, this is a no-brainer.

Piedmont

The most famous grape in Piedmont is the noble Nebbiolo, which makes the long-lived Barolo and Barbaresco.
