El Indigo, Bonarda - 2023

750 mL
Item # 34222

The red Bonarda grape from Argentina is not the same as what you find in Italy. This is a red wine full of red fruit aromas and accessible tannins. Twenty percent of the wine was aged in French oak barrels for 9 months. Enjoy with tacos al pastor.

Staff Pick Notes

Differing from Piedmontese Bonarda, Argentine Bonarda has roots in France where it is known as “Douce Noir” and is currently the second-most planted grape varietal in Argentina. From the outset, this wine has concentrated aromas and flavors of red fruits such as raspberry, strawberry, cherry, and red plum jam, which are all accented by subtle notes of vanilla and spice. I couldn’t think of a better transitional wine as we say goodbye to summer and welcome autumn with open arms!
