Cruse Wine Co. "Rorick Vineyard" Chardonnay - 2023

750 mL
Item # 37456

This Chardonnay is sourced from a warmer site in the Sierra Foothills. Nervy acidity and great minerality with bright citrus fruit and a touch of pastry. Juice was transferred to neutral barrels and fermentation occurred spontaneously. Limited quantity produced. Winemaker Michael Cruse is a rising star in the California wine scene and we are impressed with the quality and purity of his wines.

Staff Pick Notes

Michael Cruse has a backround in science (biochemistry) but appreciates the artistry of the craft of wine making. Creativity is at the heart of all projects he does. Making expressions of the place come through in the wines is the real focus here. Asking the questions like how can we make something better is the goal and I will always buy into that kind of enthusiasm. Picking at the appropriate brix levels to maintain freshness and not over-manipulate the process leading to a wine that is a balanced. Unadulterated fruit from the vine is what more people want these days and this guy is, along with many others is us lucky consumers just that. Thank you.
