A wild, delicious mead made with black tart cherry botanical mead, with yarrow, chamomile and foraged hemlock and fir. Fermented and aged in barrel for over one year.Unique aromatic herbal character and structure. Limited production.

There is a mesmerizing community that surrounds bees. I began noticing hints of it everywhere. From the botanical spirits with bees softly printed on labels to the old-now-new meaderies springing up in reinvented towns. Booze dripping with honey, and the families behind them, my fascination was startling. When I think about honey, the first place my mind turns to is Enlightenment wines. I've written about these enlightened ones before—the botanicals, the earth, the hands that work, every piece of energy used in the conception is mindfully curated. This is more like a vermouth then a wine. It is packed with notes of tea, steeped rhubarb, dark, wet, dew-covered earth.
