Made from two tiny parcels of historic Aglianico vineyards in Paternopoli planted in 1930. Winemaker Luigi Tecce was destined for a life in Roman politics when his father and grandfather died suddenly in 1997, leaving him the fourth generation farmhouse including olive trees, goats, sheep, and 5 hectares of 50+ year old tree-vine Taurasi Aglianico. 20 years later he became known as a prized Taurasi producer.

Aglianico

Brought to Italy by the Greeks in the 6th century B.C., Aglianico enjoyed an early heyday in the ancient world as one of the key components of Falernum, a wine revered by kings and poets. After nearly being wiped out by Phylloxera in the 19th century, the grape is now experiencing a great revival in southern Italy.
