Tasting Notes

Bottled in small, numbered batches this artisanal liqueur is made with a base of eau de vie infused with aloe vera, cucumber, lemon peel, muskmelon, spearmint, sugar and water. The revitalizing and invigorating aromas are almost therapeutic in their calming effect. Each element comes through wonderfully on the palate enveloped in a soft, elegant texture. The possibilities with this one are endless. Grab one now and start experimenting!

Staff Pick Notes

Chareau is a fun and unique addition to a cocktail. This artisanal liquor is made with a base of eau-de-vie from Californian wine grapes. It's blended with aloe, cucumber, lemon, muskmelon, and spearmint. It's light and fresh yet the viscosity gives it a pleasant weight on the palate. It really adds something special in a mixed drink. The possibilities are endless as the profile of this liquor is very complementary to many spirits and liquors. Two of my favorite ways to drink it are below: 2 oz Gin 1 oz Chareau 3/4 oz Lillet Blanc Stir with ice and strain into a coupe with a lemon peel or 2oz blanco tequila 3/4 oz Chareau 1/4 oz lime 3-4 oz soda water Stir with ice and top with soda water and top with a cucumber slice

Astor's Glossary of Terms

California makes more wine than any other state in the United States. Not only does the state grow a variety of noble grape varieties like Pinot Noir, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, there are also plantings of lesser-known varieties such as Nebbiolo, Roussanne and Mourvèdre to name just a few.
