A paler, ethereal red wine with rustic red fruit, herbs and spices and structured tannins. The grapes come from the Sisters vineyard, from a block planted in 2012 (Willamette Valley’s first) in volcanic basalt soil, overlain with a thin layer of granitic sediments. The wines spends 6 months in neutral French oak, no added sulfur.

When going to a bar or meeting new people the categorical question that always comes up : "What do you do for a living" when answered is closely followed by 1 of 2 questions: "What is your favorite wine?" or "Do you know (_random wine here_)? It's my favorite!" To the first follow up my answer is always Trousseau. As I say the grapes name, memories of granite dusted red fruit dance through my head. Thoughts of smashes electric raspberries, red cherries the size of basketballs hanging off a brilliantly healthy trees as the sun rains down. The Eyrie Vineyards, Trousseau is nothing short of what I dream of. It's bright and elegant, light in body, the perfect accompaniment to an array of foods. But I'd pick Montadella, Goat Bri & July at 7pm sitting on the tile floor with the windows open.
