Sancerre "Insolite", Millet - 2021

Item # 42288 750mL

Insolite is the Millet winery's special reserve bottling and their top cuvée. The grapes were hand harvested from the chalk and limestone soils of the site. After a 12 hour skin maceration, the wine rests in tank for months before bottling. This is a luxurious, full-bodied Sancerre you can pair alongside the best of aged cheese plates which must include a Crotin de Loire.

Staff Pick Notes

This is what great Sancerre should taste like. Silky smooth with a lovely round mouthfeel, gunflint minerality, white flowers, grapefruit and lemon notes, and peppery grassiness. With a pale gold appearance, nice length, and beautiful aromatics. It's a winner. This is Millet's special reserve wine. The grapes for this bottling were macerated at colder temperatures than normal, bringing forth a bold yet crystal clear expression of Sauvignon Blanc. Give it a good chill, serve alongside shellfish, and enjoy drinking this top flight Sancerre to the very last drop.

Some are fermented in barrel, others in stainless steel. Some...
