A full-bodied and bold red wine made from older vines coming from 4 vine sites with different soils, elevations and aspects. The Greenock vineyard is in the west of of the region. The Nuriootpa plantings are crucial and add spice and tannins whereas the Craneford comes from higher elevations adding acidity to the final wine. Today, the Elderton winery is run by two brothers in a rambling old homestead that their family purchased a generation ago.
